Every great experience begins at home, and our experience has certainly begun! We are counting down the days until retirement and even more so the days until we leave Australia in search of... the world, I suppose! When I say retirement - we are 27 and 29 years old so I guess it would be more semi-retirement for a period of time, but either way it is much nicer to think about it this way rather than "I am giving up a good job to be an un-employed vagrant for the next 6 months"!!
Thailand will be our first stop and we are planning to hang out there for around 3 months until our friends arrive, so it is audio books to the rescue! Sa-wat-di-ka, kup-pun-ka, sabai-di-mai-ka etc etc.Of all the languages we could have chosen to learn as our first attempt, I am not exactly sure that Thai was the correct or easiest choice, but never the less, we are steaming through our audio books everyday and attempting conversations at home in a different language... This is certainly part of the experience!
